Keynes on population and economic growth
Article Abstract:
Keynes tackled the population question in books and academic papers and in his journalism. His pronouncements on population were regarded as his intellectual Achilles' heel by many of his contemporaries. The development of Keyne's thinking on population is traced, focusing particularly on the role of his unpublished manuscript 'Population' in his later work. Joseph Schumpeter's scorn of Keynes's early neo-Malthusian views was harsh but Schumpeter now appears a more reliable guide on the issue of population than Keynes.

Income distribution, transaction costs and market fragmentation in informal credit markets
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze relationships among transactions costs, wealth distribution and market fragmentation. The study assumed that trust is abasic factor of any credit transaction with later payment conditions. In less developed countries (LDCs), inequitable wealth distribution and fragmented markets present problems for managing trust and lead to additional transactionscosts in such cases. Thus, the trust factor is based on interpersonal relationships and credit market linkage in LDCs.
