Labor income and risky investments: can part-time farmers compete?
Article Abstract:
Lower returns from part-time farming can be compensated by diversification of income sources. Earlier, the family pooled its labor and shared its fruits, but today farm households receive part of their income from other nonfarm sources, like wage and salary jobs, business and professional services.
