Lebanon's Copyright Law: paving the way to global integration
Article Abstract:
The passing of Lebanon's revised Copyright Law, which occurred in Mar 1999, will aid in the country's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). The country, which began the accession process in early 1999, is expected to comply with the requirements set by the WTO Agreement on Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights. The Copyright Law, also known as Law No. 75 of 1999 regarding the Protection of Literary and Artistic Property, became effective on Jun 14, 1999.

Kuwait's foreign investment law: full dimensions won't be known until implementing regs are out
Article Abstract:
Kuwait's first foreign investment law came into force on 22 April, 2001, in order to comply with World Trade Organisation rules and to boost the economy. This law is described and its potential impact is examined.
