Article Abstract:
Women have gained more prominence in the work environment over the last 25 years and have also made significant advancements in terms of wages, retirement benefits, and pension rights. Women in the 1990s appear to be less influenced by their husbands' pensions and Social Security benefits in their decisions to retire. However, factors such as expected wages, nonfinancial compensation such as health and disability benefits, and pension income are seen to be determining factors in retirement.
