Measurement of capacity utilization for revenue-maximizing firms
Article Abstract:
Capacity utilization measurements (CU) have proven useful in analyzing current economic status of single-product companies in the short-run. A modification of CU was used to analyze the economic performance of multi-product companies whose objectives are revenue maximization. Results showed that the effects of individual product price changes on CU are determined by the product-specific scale elasticity.
