Measuring returns on investments in collectibles
Article Abstract:
There are a number of issues associated with measuring and interpreting the financial return to investing in collectibles. These issues include how to interpret the existing results on financial characteristics of collectibles. It may be anticipated that there is a large differential between gross and net returns on collectibles, taking account of the need to use market makers to purchase and sell collectibles. Research indicates that taking these costs into consideration substantially reduces the rate of return.

Do men whose wives work really earn less?
Article Abstract:
The wage premiums of single-earner husbands are examined to determine the validity of management studies that propose bigger premiums for single-earner types. Said studies cite discrimination against and low productivity of dual-earner husbands as reasons. Regression estimates that use data from the Panel Study of Income Dynamics indicate a lack of evidence on the relationship between wage premiums of husbands and their wives' working hours.

Assortive mating by schooling and the work behavior of wives and husbands
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the effects of marital choices on work decisions reveals that the higher the educational attainment of husbands, the higher the tendency for wives to remain at home. The study also finds that schooling yields market as well as non-market benefits and that the subject of marital consequences on work behavior deserves more attention as the subject is not widely studied.
