Abu Dhabi tender for private sector utility project

United Arab Emirates' privatization drive intensifies with the government's decision to allow the private sector to participate in a power and water development project. The government has decided to accept statements of qualifications for its Taweelah A2 independent power and water project located in the northeastern part of Abu Dhabi. The project is composed of desalination facility and a natural gas-fired power generation that is expected to be fully operational by the year 2001.

Jordan's growing attractions for investors in the region

Jordan, because of its macroeconomic stability, is becoming a very attractive region for foreign investment. The country is not rich in natural resources, but boasts a skilled labor force, access to international markets and a developed infrastructure. The article provides additional information on the attractiveness of Jordan to outside investors.
