Money demand, financial liberalization and currency substitution in Turkey
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to model the empirical relationship between broader definition of money, real income, interest rates, inflation and expected exchange rate and examine the constancy of this relationship in the light of financial reform, deregulation of financial markets and financial crises in Turkey. The results reveal that despite the economic reforms and financial crises the demand for money in Turkey is stable.
