New Mexico rural economic assistance link
Article Abstract:
The Rural Economic Assistance Link is a program initiated by universities in New Mexico and business groups in the state to foster long-term economic development in rural areas. This program is jointly run by 11 government and private entities including the New Mexico State University, the US Small Business Administration and University of New Mexico. It emphasizes the discovery of new ways of initiating economic growth under the leadership of local organizations and individuals.

The Economic Development Institute
Article Abstract:
The Economic Development Institute was created in the early 1960s as a joint venture between the University of Oklahoma and the American Economic Development Council to undertake an educational program for economic development practitioners. In the 1980s, it expanded its venue for training sessions into Cleveland, OH. As of 1995, it is planning to expand further into a third site, possibly a city in California.
