Nonmonetary trade and differential access to credit in Russian transition
Article Abstract:
The recourse to nonmonetary trade (NMT) by industrial enterprises as a reaction to the outflow of liquidity, persistent budgetary deficits and a strict monetary policy, is discussed. Factors contributing to credit rationing of enterprises in the Russian economy are studied.
