Outsourcing: where's the value?
Article Abstract:
Outsourcing has been growing in popularity among businesses. Before deciding to outsource, however, companies should first determine whether doing so would really have value. Otherwise, they could easily fall into the trap of outsourcing merely because it is currently fashionable to do so. Determining the potential value of outsourcing involves balancing the economies of scale achieved by the service provider against the actual costs that would be incurred in conducting transactions with them.
