Payoff from panels in low-income countries: economic development and economic mobility
Article Abstract:
A study conducted using data from a new 18-year panel survey from Bangladesh to assess whether and how residence-based sampling rules affect estimates of economic mobility in the presence of nonrandom household division is presented. Evidence suggests that panel-survey rules that condition on residence provide nonrandom subsamples of the baseline households.
