Pigou and Coase in retrospect
Article Abstract:
The thought processes of Ronald H. Coase and A.C. Pigou are examined with emphasis on their amalytic methodology and intellectual environments that shaped their views. The astounding parallels between their works, much of which have been lost in mathematical translations, are documented. Pigouvian and Coasian models are presented. The nature of a firm as an organisational entity is analyzed. An in-depth discussion of the Coase theorem and its origins and the Pigouvian tradition are presented. The works ofboth men are demonstrated to be supplementary and not antithetical to each other.

Economics as progress: the LSE approach to econometric modeling and critical realism as programmes for research
Article Abstract:
A comparative analysis of research programmes in economics i.e., LSE approach to econometric modeling and critical realism in economics is presented. Just like natural sciences, these programmes are sustained competing programs in economics - in other words two long-term projects oriented towards the same objective. Such sustained competition helps in highlights the positive aspects of each program, which can then be evaluated and selected for the purpose on hand.
