Policymakers, Institutions, and Central Bank Decisions
Article Abstract:
Although central bank autonomy undoubtedly helps in the control of inflation, U.S. legislative efforts to restructure the Federal Reserve Board are perennially towards reducing its autonomy. This paper studies the monetary policy preferences of the different types of members of the Federal Open Market Committee which is the Federal Reserve Board's policymaking unit and how they are selected.
