Political labor market, government policy, and stability of a non-democratic regime
Article Abstract:
Promotion contracts in non-democratic Soviet Union were analyzed through the use of employment and political data from 1956-1968. The tested model proved that stability of regime continues when there is a huge income gap between those who rule and those who belong to the working populace. The implications of government policy and public good spending on regime stability are also studied.
