Both Consumer Price Indexes (CPI) increased 0.1% in Jan 1992. The CPI for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) went to 138.1 without seasonal adjustment, a rise of 2.6% for the last 12 months. The CPI for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) went to 136.0 without seasonal adjustment, a rise of 2.4% for the last 12 months. Smallest 12 month gains were for energy: -6.5% in CPI-U and -6.9% in CPI-W. Largest 12 month gains were for medical costs: 7.8% for CPI-U and 7.7% for CPI-W.

The consumer price index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) went to 143.1 without seasonal adjustment in Feb 1993, a rise of 3.2% for the past 12 months and a 0.4% rise for the past one month. The CPI for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) increased 0.3% in February to 140.7, a rise of 3.2% over the past twelve months. Smallest 12 month gains were 1.7% for food in both CPIs. The largest 12 month gains were for medical costs: 6.3% in CPI-U and 6.4% in CPI-W.
