Article Abstract:
Both consumer price indexes (CPIs) rose 0.1% in June 1996. The CPI for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) rose to 156.7 without seasonal adjustment, a rise of 2.8% for the last 12 months. The CPI for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) rose to 154.1 without seasonal adjustment, a rise of 2.8% for the last 12 months. Smallest 12 month gains were .2% in apparel and upkeep for the CPI-U and 2.7% in housing for the CPI-W. The largest 12 month gains were 3.8% for entertainment in the CPI-U and 6.9% for transportation in the CPI-W.

Both Consumer Price Indexes (CPI) rose 0.1% in Jun 1993. The CPI for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) went to 144.4 without seasonal adjustment, a rise of 3.0% for the past 12 months. The CPI for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) went to 142.0 without seasonal adjustment, a rise of 2.8% for the past 12 months. Smallest 12 month gains were for energy: 0.6% in CPI-U and 0.3% in CPI-W. Largest 12 month gains were 6.2% for medical costs in both indexes.
