Product diversity in asymmetric oligopoly: Is the quality of consumer goods too low?
Article Abstract:
Using the example of yogurt, an oligopoly model with quality and horizontal differences is analyzed. When quality and fixed costs are independent, the market will select the right firms. In the opposite situation, low quality products may be produced.
