Providing the competitive edge
Article Abstract:
Dubai airport in United Arab Emirates is known among passengers and airline officials for its attractive duty-free retail stores. The airport attracts merchants and traders, and airlines often prefer to refuel there rather than other airports. Similarly, the Malaysian Kuala Lumpur's airport is described as a shopper's paradise. Some of these outlet stores have become so profitable that airports are reducing landing fees to attract more airlines.

Competing on the edge: strategy as structured chaos
Article Abstract:
Competing on the edge is a non-traditional approach to strategy that takes into account changes in the marketplace. For the companies using this approach, the key to effective performance is the ability to change continuously over time, and not just in occasional, major reorganizations. Furthermore, firms that compete on the edge consider strategy as temporary, driven by organization and reliant on timing not just speed.
