Tragic choices and collective decision-making: an empirical study of voter preferences for alternative collective decision-making mechanism
Article Abstract:
An analysis of voter preferences and their effects on the decision-making mechanisms reveals that the choice of decision mechanisms are effectively left to the citizens. Decision mechanisms left to the citizens may or may not be successful and institutions are most influential in their selection. The study emphasizes that specific decision mechanisms should be applied on a case to case basis.

An analysis of seasonality in the U.K. equity market
Article Abstract:
Seasonal fluctuations for the UK equity market from 1955 to 1990 are observed. The analysis eliminated non-stationary stochastic seasonal movements and accounted for a deterministic seasonal pattern for equity return. Seasonal variation in equity returns was observed in UK firms across all sizes. These variations were not caused by equity market risk seasonality.
