Reforming the Voting System
Article Abstract:
Britain's present voting system is unfair to minor parties. Other voting systems are reviewed. The cases for and against proportional representation (PR) are listed. An inset describes another form of PR, the alternative vote (AV) system. Many professional bodies use single transferable vote (STV), but it is complicated for the voter. A graph illustrates the landslide effect.

How Long Until Polling Day?
Article Abstract:
It is believed that more people were shot in Grenada on October 19, 1983 by General Hudson Austin's men than previously believed. The new temporary non-political government will be headed by Alister McIntyre, a Grenadian. It is not known when an election can be held.

A Silly Way to Run a Silly System
Article Abstract:
Britain is being slow in setting new boundaries for its Euro-constituencies for the June 14, 1984 election. Final proposals will probably not be ready until the end of March 1984. Parliament is to blame for the delay.
