Relative cohort size and inequality in the United States
Article Abstract:
An increase in relative cohort size (RCS) are both economically beneficial and disadvantageous. An increase in the ratio of young to older adults in the population have unfavorable supply effects on the wages of the young. A change in the demographic structure over the past 30 years have led to the decrease in relative wages of young adults and individuals nearing retirement age. The baby boom is both economically advantageous and disadvantageous. Baby boomers born in the first and last half performed poorly while older members managed well in a growing economy spurred by baby boom parents.

Challenges for the post-apartheid economy
Article Abstract:
South Africa's labor market is expected to change after the elimination of apartheid. Aside from unemployment and poverty issues, the country faces the problem on the widening gap between skilled and unskilled workers due to a globalized labor market. Improvements in labor quality are slow due to inadequate education and training. Moreover, various sectors of the society are demanding an increase in the number of students that can be accommodated by universities.

Article Abstract:
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) shift into a permeable educational institution was influenced by political different agendas and the altercation of different faculty groups. The MIT was the venue of the junction of many political movements from 1870-1920. These groups intend to remodel the industry and the American society through the reform of educational institutions and the use of science and technology.
