Roscher's 'Grundlagen' in the history of economic thought
Article Abstract:
A study of the theoretical structure of Wilhelm Roscher's 'Grundlagen' reveals that the German economist subscribed to the theories proposed by English classical economists such as Adam Smith and John Stuart Mill. Roscher, as the founder of the historical school of economics, positioned himself in the middle between the English classical school, which held to its 'methodological stance,' and the German historical school, which believed in historicism.
