Rules, restrictions, constraints: structure and process in the new institutional economics
Article Abstract:
Research shows institutions play a significant role in economic thinking by focusing on comparison and providing asymmetric authority. Collective comparison practices within economic institutions should be minimized through regulation to enhance political analysis. A single-dimensional space proposals model is considered together with other models used in political science.

Time, transition and institutional change
Article Abstract:
New Institutional Economics should help in understanding how conditions for economic reform can be improved. Time and the pace of reform are key issues, as is property law. Gradual reform appears to be more productive than big-bang policies.
