Sales maximization and specific human capital
Article Abstract:
Company owners often reward their top managers with salary increases because of its positive impact on sales and profit. This relationship can also be applied in the case of regular employees, where bargaining then ensues as employee wages are then tied up to investment. Optimal results are obtained when managerial contracts are defined as functions of sales and profits, while underinvestment by workers in company-specific human capital is also resolved.
