Results of a survey conducted in November 2003 in the United States by the National Federation of Independent Business Owners (NFIB), based on questionnaires sent to its members, report on employee compensation. Seventeen percent of owners reported raising employee compensation over the previous three months, seventeen points below the record high reached in 2000.

Article Abstract:
The statistical data of small business compensation is presented month wise from the year 1998 to 2003. It was seen that the plans to raise compensation fell one point to a seasonally adjusted 10 percent of all firms, close to the 9 percent record low for the monthly surveys revisited in February 2003.

A survey is undertaken to find whether the firms has changed or planning to change the average employee compensation. The findings indicate that nineteen percent of owners reported rise in employee compensation.
