Spatial evolution of population and industry in the United States
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the spatial history of population and industry in the US. Population Census data between 1900 and 1990 and Manufacturing Census information for the period 1964 to 1992 were utilized to carry out the analysis. Results indicated that the relative size distribution of cities supported stability over time with stationary transition processes.
