Sweetening the Transition in EU Sugar Preferences: The Case of Fiji
Article Abstract:
It is posited that direct development assistance should replace trade preferences, using as an illustration European Union sugar export price preferences for Pacific, Caribbean, and African nations. A general equilibrium model is applied to Fiji; improvements in economic performance are identified and examined, along with predicted social welfare costs.
