Tax wedges, bid-ask spreads, and international financial parity conditions
Article Abstract:
International finance researchers suggest that taxes affect international financial parity relationships. Further study incorporates another economic factor which may affect such parity conditions. Transactions costs in bid-ask spreads for foreign countries are analyzed as a capital market imperfection in the tax system. The study focuses on adjustments to McClure's analysis of the international Fisher effect, interest rate parity theory and unbiased forward rates theory.
