The European internal market programme and inbound foreign direct investment
Article Abstract:
The European internal market program (IMP) affected the flow of inbound foreign direct investments (fdi) through its effects on the variables affecting fdi. The effects of IMP are industry specific and quite noticeable on market size, income levels, economic activity structures and agglomeration economies. Findings of studies and analysis of statistical data indicate that IMP has stimulated the growth of intra and extra-European community fdi.

Developments in the economies of the European Union
Article Abstract:
The European Commission (EC) has expressed optimism over the organization's long-term economic prospects. According to high-ranking EC officials, the region's growth levels would continue to improve in the next millenium for as long as the economic policies of member states remain intact and effective. The agency further asserts that efforts to reduce interest rates would eventually result in a more stable financial market in the region.
