Regional convergence in the European Community
Article Abstract:
Regional convergence in the EC is examined from 1975-1990 using different methodologies. Variant convergence patterns are observed across subset classes and sub-periods. Southern Europe expanded in the first half of the 1980s but declined in the second half. An opposite pattern is generated by regions in Northern Europe. The differences were considered in the process of policy changes and the internal market program development in the 1980s.
