The Tragedy of the Commons revisited: identifying behavioral principles
Article Abstract:
Garret Hardin's classic work on 'the tragedy of the commons' (1968) proposes that the common-pool resource is used up to the point where the average value of extraction and the wage rate become equal in the long term when there is an infinite number of appropriators. However, an analysis of common-pool resource yields conflicting results. Findings show that resource still dwindles to the level described by Hardin even when the number of appropriators is limited. These results are discussed.

Intangible resources, Tobin's q, and sustainability of performance differences
Article Abstract:
The hypothesis that greater the intangibility of a firm's resources, the greater the sustainability of its competitive advantage is tested empirically. A dynamic panel data regression model reveals that intangibles play an effective role in sustaining a firm's competitive advantage, as predicted by the resource-based view of the firm.

Privatization and efficiency: differentiating ownership effects from political, organizational, and dynamic effects
Article Abstract:
The private-public ownership factor must be considered separately from other factors that also determine the impact of privatization on efficiency. It is argued that privatization involves more than pure ownership effects.
