The coevolution of automata in the repeated prisoner's dilemma
Article Abstract:
A model of learning and adaptation is employed to study the coevolution of strategies in the repeated Prisoner's Dilemma game under perfect and imperfect reporting. Meta-agents who optimized the selection of their strategies are modeled using a genetic algorithm. The use of artificial adaptive agents enables the use of computational experiments to investigate the evolution of strategic choice in games. Findings show that significant differences among the evolving strategies result from information conditions.

Altruism, evolution and welfare economics
Article Abstract:
According to Joseph Henrich, the existence of prosocial behavior cannot be explained by individual-based characteristic alone such as kin selection, reciprocal altruism or costly signaling. The findings of Henrich demonstrate that group level differences are more important than individual characteristics in explaining economic behavior.

The genetic side of gene-culture coevolution: internalization of norms and prosocial emotions
Article Abstract:
An attempt is made to add to Henrich's argument for conformist cultural transmission, to weaken the group selection requirements for gene-cultural coevolution, and to strengthen the genetic side of the evolutionary dynamic. The evolutionary stability of altruism, conformist cultural transmission and prosocial emotions are analyzed.
