The demand for long-term deposits of a financial intermediary: theory and evidence
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the demand for long-term deposits at micro-economic perspective revealed that uncertainties related to a financial intermediary's pricing policy and corporate identity are integral factors in determining a firm's term extension. Additionally, non-priced centered incentives are not always successful in spurring term extension. Likewise, the distribution of a financial intermediary's long term rates, in relation to other competitors, is an important determinant of its long term deposit growth.
