Career and marriage in the age of the Pill
Article Abstract:
The increase in the proportion of professionals who are women is linked to increased usage of oral contraceptives and later marriage. Women have been better able to plan careers as a result of the pill. Feminism may also have had an impact in the US.

The United States became the economic power it is in the 20th century by leading the world in establishing secondary education and higher education opportunities for all of its citizens. The history of public secondary education is analyzed along with economic development history.

Technology, skill, and the wage structure: insights from the past
Article Abstract:
The complementary relationship between human skill and physical capital can be seen in the continuous-process and batch production techniques in manufacturing industries. Skilled workers create a workable capital that the unskilled uses together with raw inputs to manufacture the final product. The growth of high-technology industries from 1910 to 1940 also show a trend towards the employment of skilled workers.
