A bird in the hand...
Article Abstract:
Birds and businesses are alike in that both tend to settle, grow and reproduce in areas that are strategically located and that satisfy their particular needs. Like bird watchers who have to nurture local birds first before they can attract new avian species, economic developers who want to attract new businesses to their communities must first sustain and encourage the growth of existing businesses. They can only attract new business enterprises if they can offer a conducive environment.
