The prospects for caring: economic theory and policy analysis
Article Abstract:
The unique features of caring that help in analyzing its movement between paid and unpaid economies, are examined. To examine the evolution of caring norms and practices, an analysis on rising opportunity costs and inequalities in care responsibilities, are used. Conclusions show the presence of concerns about costs, as well as the reasons why governments decide to develop caring strategies.
