Monetary policy cooperation may not be counterproductive
Article Abstract:
A mathematical model is developed to determine economic factors which can dispute K. Rogoff's claim that international monetary policy cooperation leads to stagflation. Of the factors examined in Rogoff's model for international monetary policy cooperation, the consumer price index (CPI) was found to be sensitive for inflation-averse policy makers, whose actions are to decrease the CPI inflation. This decrease in CPI inflation leads to a collective action by production units to improve production and increase exchange rates movement.

An analysis of horizontal and vertical equity in Sweden, the U.S. and the U.K
Article Abstract:
The gap in income redistribution usually found for Sweden, the US, and the UK is also noted in this study, but consideration of horizontal inequities reduces the extreme nature of the results. While more income inequality is removed by Swedish taxes and transfers, in comparison to the situation in the US or the UK, the usual wide differential between countries is substantially reduced by taking into account horizontal inequities resulting from policies intended to compress incomes.
