Twelve Months Later, Brazil Prepares for Christmas, 1982
Article Abstract:
At the end of 1983, Brazil's creditors want their arrears paid. This can only be done with the loan agreed to at the September 1983 meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Banks and western governments have been slow implementing the agreement. Factors which will help Brazil include a trade surplus, the key dollar interest rate, debt rescheduling, and another loan. A diagram shows key economic events of 1983.
