U.S. antidumping enforcement and macroeconomic indicators revisited: Do petitioners learn?
Article Abstract:
A contribution to the literature on the political economy of the US antidumping enforcement through an analysis of the pattern, and macroeconomic determinants of country-specific antidumping petitions field by the US against 15 countries between 1982 and 1998 is presented. Some seemingly inconsistent results from the prior literature is reconciled by suggesting that learning by petitioners about the administration in practice of the US trade laws has led to changes in the roles of the macroeconomic determinants over time.
