Unequal treatment of identical agents in Cournot equilibrium
Article Abstract:
The characteristics of oligopoly models where firms take prior actions that affect subsequent marginal cost are examined for two-stage games where a Cournot competition occurs at the final stage. The study focuses on a situation where each firm produces at constant marginal cost. Results suggest that decrease in aggregate production costs that is induced by the change in the vector of marginal costs leads to an increase in both industry profit and social surplus.

Opportunism in multilateral vertical contracting: nondiscrimination, exclusivity, and uniformity: comment
Article Abstract:
A critical analysis of the study of R. Preston McAfee et al., on nondiscrimination clauses or the most-favored-customer clauses is presented. The study attempts to disprove the other studies projecting that if the seller offers better terms to the later buyers, all the previous buyers would also request for similar terms.
