Union contracts and the life-cycle permanent-income hypothesis
Article Abstract:
Households in the Panel Study of Income Dynamics are isolated. Their household heads can be confidently matched with long-term union contracts. Publications on these contracts are used to develop a household-specific measure of expected wage growth. There is a significant correlation between predictable wage movements and consumption changes. Consumption strongly responds to predictable declines in income than to predictable increases in income, which is consistent with models exhibiting loss aversion.

Accounting for China's growth performance
Article Abstract:
Some economies have attributed China's economic success to the reforms implemented after the political and environmental troubles that affected the country. However, the sustainability of growth in China's total factor productivity (TFP) is expected to decrease over time due to the nature of newer reforms in the financial market, property rights, and government corporations. China should strive to maintain a high TFP for continued economic development.
