Article Abstract:
Some of the academics, who take part in leading cultural tours, point out they are enjoyable as many of the participants are very knowledgable and interested in the subject. Others point out they are able to use the tours for research or to gain experiences they could never afford to take. The tour leaders have to be prepared to cope with problems, such as the ill-health of one of their party or difficulties with their accommodation. The tour leaders receive around 100-200 pounds sterling per day.
