America today: malaise and resiliency
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the present state of American politics and constituents examines the distrust and cynicism expressed by the voters toward the government manifested through non-participation in the electoral process. The media's sensationalist and 'good news is no news' principle, especially regarding politics, is perceived to be at the root of America's '90s discontent. In spite of the people's loss of faith in the government, however, a survey shows that Americans do still have faith in the American Dream. Still, some solution must be found to regain the people's faith and trust in their government.
