The demand for single-mindedness among employees created by corporate America has served as a hindrance to family solidarity. Families are being neglected, hence, companies should offer programs that focus on flexible scheduling, leaves and job-sharing to allow parents to spend more time with their children.

Ethnicity, economic and academic policies and trends will influence the social mobility of children of immigrants. However, descendants of the post-1965 immigrants face greater academic and employment opportunities than those encountered by children of the early 20th century European immigrants.
