Teaching abroad can provide both personal and professional benefits but there are both pros and cons to consider. There will be cultural differences which some may find difficult to adapt to and if UK academics are considering returning after a period of teaching abroad they must retain ties with the UK and keep up to date with developments within UK higher education.
