China given warning on jailed three
Article Abstract:
There are fears that Chinese academic links with other countries could be harmed by China's arrest of three academics of Chinese ancestry. The three academics, including a US citizen and a permanent resident of the US, are being held without trial. Foreign academics have called for their release.

It is feared that there may be less support in the future for the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan promoting research cooperation amongst its members, because of schemes such as the Chevening Scholarships.
