Article Abstract:
The Association of Social Anthropologists's (ASA's) decision to support a group that wants to halt the use of terms like 'primitive' and 'Stone Age' to describe 'tribal peoples' is debated. Some anthropologists oppose this simplification of complex academic and social issues by the ASA, but would like the step to help the cause of people who are being deprived of their rights.
