Rape case sparks debate
Article Abstract:
Questions about race, sex and social inequality in US higher education have been raised by the alleged rape of a black female student by white athletes at Duke University. Law yers for the students claim DNA tests prove that their clients are innocent and the scandal has crossed into examinations of snap judgements and assumptions about white men.

Private US university hit by UKPd8m fine
Article Abstract:
The Apollo Group, which operates the University of Phoenix, has agreed to pay almost $14.2 mil to settle a number of charges that it recruited a number of unqualified students. The fine comes as a setback to the previously breakneck rate of growth that private for-profit universities in the United States had been experiencing.
