East meets western prejudice
Article Abstract:
The European Association for International Education has met in Budapest, Hungary, in Dec 1996. Eva Valentova from the University of Western Bohemia has called for better understanding of eastern and central European universities from western universities. The Internet is seen as suseful in helping academics from eastern Europe keep in touch with developments world wide, but computer technology also allows fraudulent academic documents to be created more easily.

A forensic psychologist Kathy Charles, has collaborated with a newspaper to comment on a series of notorious unresolved crimes. She believes that academics do not wish to work closely with the media since they do not like the language tabloids sometimes use, though such associations can be useful to reach a large audience.
